Anchored into the cliffside of the Bermuda Coast, the Azura resort deploys a variety of modern architectural villas high and low, carefully placed for their own vista. This is a resort that just keeps giving. On the smaller side, you never feel overwhelmed with a sense of business, activity FOMO, or beat. However, the complex development carefully tucks the structures, stairs, and terraces in a way that keeps you guessing and discovering. Herein we explore and document the modern treat that is Azura, Bermuda.

Architecturally, the resort immediately tees up core modern beliefs-
You are integrated with nature. You feel the comfort of home, but you are also driven by curiosity to explore. You may end up feeling compressed going through an exterior corridor only to find architectural relief in a natural courtyard, or teased by the sound of ocean waves around the corner, or beckoned to rise through challenging stairs to achieve new vistas.
The aesthetic is clean, coastal, but somehow beachy. A variety of terrazo tiles, lime heavy concrete parging, beautiful tropical hardwoods, and ever so slightly blue tinted glass. Azura is modern, but anything but sterile.

Terraced vistas, very private feeling views. Architectural excellence. Words won't due justice. The pictures below are a random collection of excellent finishes, details, and spaces.

There are a variety of rooms and building styles. We toured one of the full suite villas. A mix of full time ownership and a handful or transient vacationers create a quieter, more serene experience than your typical Bermuda hotel. One of the villas we toured was an open concept double height A frame. Almost a cross between a Vermont glass A frame and a beach bungalow. They came with a lot of the essential bells and whistles that make the resort feel elegant- motorized shades, thermally sealed building envelopes with instant A.C. or heat, really crisp air control.

The architectural variety is delightful. You're greeted at a modern/ traditional hybrid at the welcoming building. The strong two pitch hipped roof has the traditional Bermuda finish- staggered wood boards with layers of hydraulic lime. But the execution is so modern- strong horizonal emphasis, a roof that feels like its almost floating. A perfect first nod to 'yes, you're in Bermuda, but you're in for a treat'. Because after this building, the style becomes modern forms that bend to the natural terrain to set up views and scenes that are balanced with the natural surroundings.

Azura is a collage of styles and forms that respectful decorate the cliffside. The variety is intriguing, fun, and organized.
